David King

David King is an artist who lives and works in Cleveland, Ohio. His work incorporates family photos to create new narratives. Throughout his art making practice he has taught both adults and young artists. He is currently a visiting lecturer in the Art Studio program at Case Western Reserve University. For over 30 years he taught high school, worked with the College board to teach educators how to score AP Studio Art exams and in the summers he worked with gifted high school students in the Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation in Colorado Springs, Colorado. David has been involved with many art organizations, both locally and nationally. In the Cleveland area he was a Heights Arts exhibition committee member and a founding member of ARTFUL Cleveland’s board.

David King has received numerous accolades as his work continues to be exhibited in many juried shows including, The Erie Art Museum,“Full Fathom Five” at Progressive Insurance, The CAN Triennial 2019 & 2022, The May Show at Lakeland Community College, The NEO Show-Cleveland Creates, The Utah Arts Alliance, Salt Lake City, Utah, and The Faculty Show at Case Western Reserve University. His work has been purchased and included in many collections including Progressive Insurance, Aetna Insurance, Erie Insurance, The Ohio State University, The State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio, The Ohio Education Association, The Parkersburg Art Museum, The Cleveland Administration Building, Cleveland Metro Health Center, The Dalad Collection and more. He has received multiple Ohio Arts Council grants, enriching his ability to pursue experimental materials and approaches to art making. David is represented by the HEDGE Gallery in Cleveland, Ohio.
