Dineo Seshee Bopape was born in 1981 in South Africa. She started her art carerr at Durban Institute of Technology, where she studied painting and sculpture. She is a 2007 graduate of De Ateliers in Amsterdam and in 2010 completed an MFA at Columbia University, New York. She was the winner of the 2008 MTN New Contemporaries Award, and the recipient of a 2010 Columbia University Toby Fund Award. Bopape has shown her work in national and international exhibitions. She currently lives and works in Cape Town, South Africa.
