Eike Sindlinger

Eike is an architect and urban designer who lives and works in London. He has a particular interest in the relationship between food and the build environment and the integration of food production with sustainable development.

In 2004, he was a key member of the team "Cow the udder way" which was one of the winners of the international Shrinking Cities Competition, proposing to herd cows on derelict land in Toxteth / Liverpool. This had followed a successful entry for Europan 7 in Tallinn /Estonia and an international ideas competition for sustainable development in Edinburgh.

Eike has also taught at the University of East London and has been a guest critic and lecturer at University College London, Bartlett School of Architecture, the Architectural Association, Brighton University as well as guest speaker at the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Berlin and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research.

Apart from working on major master plans in the UK and globally, he has been teaching at The University of East London he has also collaborated with artist and landscape architect Heather Ring and been invited by artist Fritz Haeg to contribute to the "Library of the Future".
