Schroeder is Emeritus Professor of Art at Hiram College, where he taught for more than 40 years. He received his BFA and MFA degrees from Kent State University. He has exhibited in thirty solo shows since his first, at the Canton Art Museum, then the Canton Art Institute, in 1962. He exhibited in Cleveland May Shows in the 60s,70s and 80s. Other highlights include solo shows at the Maison de la Culture in Orleans, France and the Kentler International Drawing Space in Brooklyn, New York.
He lives in a century farmhouse in Hiram, where he has his studio.
