Jason Kucsma is currently the Executive Director of the Metropolitan New York Library Council, a nonprofit member services agency that provides resources and services to hundreds of academic, public, and special libraries in the metropolitan New York region. Previously, he was the interim director and served as the Emerging Technologies Manager, overseeing METRO's collaborative digitization grant programs and professional development programs in digitization and emerging technologies. He came to work in libraries after publishing a nationally distributed, award-winning independent culture and politics magazine (clamor) and founding a national conference for independent media makers (Allied Media Conference).
He received his MA in American Culture Studies and his BA in Communications from Bowling Green State University. In 2007, he received a MA Information Resources and Library Science from the University of Arizona Tucson, where he also got a graduate certificate in Digital Information Management. He is the founder, Co-Editor, and Art Director of Clamor Magazine, as well as the founder and Director of Allied Media Projects, Inc. He is the recipient of several awards and scholarships for his work, including being named "one of thirty 'young visionaries' in the country who are changing the future" according to his website.
