Jon Keppel

website

Jon Keppel’s work as a life artist applies to his life 24/7, 365 days a year. It is a way of being. For the better part of a decade, Jon has been developing an understanding and expression of life that he calls “life art.” Life art is about living your life as art where you are both the artist and art co-creating your life with the Universe at large. Important to state is that in Jon’s conception Love with a capital “L” (a vast, comprehensive good force beyond romantic love only) is the first principle of life art. Through daily practices of mindfulness meditation, affirmations, journaling and more, Jon has worked to continually and sustainably be channeling the creative muse as Love into his everyday existence for a happier, healthier, more fulfilling life. His most recent artistic realization is a period called Seven Years which loosely refers to a portion of the time he has been working in libraries. His work transcends the art world and stands as both fine art and more generally speaking, life itself, or more specifically, life art. Jon works to establish this conception and lived practice of art further by developing the term life art, giving presentations, and offering writings on the topic while embodying it as a way of being and leading what he calls The Life Art Movement including at libraries. He has begun creating visual art again and is in the process of beginning to show in public exhibitions. All opinions expressed here are those of Jon Keppel and not the library where he is employed.
