Lindsay Stefans is an award-winning artist and lighting designer whose practice bridges contemporary craft, sculptural light art, and immersive installation. She received her MFA in Lighting Design from Parsons School of Design in New York City and began her career with the renowned lighting firm L’Observatoire International, contributing to landmark projects including the Disney Concert Hall for the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
Stefans’ work explores the emotional, atmospheric, and transformative qualities of light through luminous sculpture, installation, and hand papermaking. Influenced by Korean architectural forms, wabi-sabi aesthetics, and contemporary minimalism, her practice integrates mindfulness and spatial experience to create environments that encourage reflection, sensory awareness, and connection. Working at the intersection of art, design, and wellness, she creates poetic installations that emphasize light as both medium and experience. Stefans has collaborated with institutions including The Sculpture Center, Oberlin Conservatory, Creative Time, and Case Western Reserve University, and has received multiple awards for lighting design and installation work.
