Michelle Fried received her MFA from Carnegie Mellon University in 2008 and her BFA in both Sociology and Fine Art from the University of West Florida where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2005. Fried has had exhibitions, screenings and performances throughout the US and internationally, at such venues as the VIA Music and New Media Festival, PA; SPACES Gallery, OH; Show Cave, CA; Cheekwood Museum of Art, TN; Atlanta Contemporary Art Center, GA; Carnegie Mellon University, PA; and Galeria Leyendecker, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain, among others. She held a residency at Santa Fe Art Institute, Santa Fe, NM in 2009 and Crawl Space Studio, Seattle, WA in 2007.
"Through my work, I want to find moments where irrefutable fact conflicts with the expansive, colorful space of our idiosyncratic imaginations. My work tries to capture and suspend that decisive moment when these two forms of reality conflict."

All visitors are recommended to wear masks and social distance from staff and other guests. SPACES is located close to the 26, 76, and 81 bus stops, as well as the Red Line Rapid station. Street parking is available throughout Hingetown, as are bike racks. We are wheelchair accessible throughout the galleries.
