Renee Gertler currently lives in San Francisco, California. She received her MFA from California College of the Arts in 2007 and her BFA from California College of Arts and Crafts in 1998. She studied at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University. In 2006, she received the Edwin Anthony and Adelaine Boudreaux Cadogan Fellowship in San Francisco, and in 2008 she was a recipient of the Danish Arts Council Grant in Copenhagen, Denmark. In addition to her residency at SPACES, she has done several artist residencies at places including the Mac Dowell Artist Colony in Peterborough, New Hampshire, the John Michael Kohler Arts/Industry Program in Kohler, Wisconsin, and the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, Vermont.
