Sid Branca is a multimedia artist, writer, and educator working at the intersection of moving image media, performance, and creative writing. They work in a variety of forms, including video, performance, text and book projects, and music/sound art. They are also a projection designer and the Director of New Media for First Floor Theater. Frequent areas of artistic and critical interest include theatrical adaptation/translation, the recontextualizing of popular music, speculative autobiography, and queer/trans readings of science fiction and horror genre narratives. Branca holds degrees from the University of Chicago and Columbia College Chicago, and teaches in the department of Film, Video, New Media, and Animation at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
