Tim has exhibited at Galleria d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, Bergamo, Italy, The Kreeger Museum, Carrie Secrist Gallery, Tate Gallery, and Whitebox.
He received his BFA from the School of Visual Arts in 1978. He did graduate studies at New York University.
Rollins began teaching art for special education middle school students in a South Bronx public school after finishing his time in university. In 1984, he launched the Art and Knowledge Workshop in the Bronx together with a group of at-risk students who called themselves K.O.S. (Kids of Survival). The group's work is held in the collections of MOMA, the Smithsonian Museum and other prestigious institutions.
