Senate panel offers hope for arts agency (http://ajc.com)
"The Senate Appropriations Committee restored the $890,735 that the governor had recommended for GCA, but the House had cut out. The Senate version of the budget keeps the agency going, but with about $1.6 million less in state backing than it has in fiscal year 2010."
Arts District: Cuyahoga Arts and Culture Gets Younger (Cleveland Scene)
"There's been a minor changing of the guard at Cuyahoga Arts and Culture. By replacing someone who's had a long career with a person at the beginning of his, it puts a younger face on the arts funder's board of trustees. David Bergholz, who retired after 15 years as executive director at the Gund Foundation, has stepped down, and the organization has appointed Matthew Charboneau in his place."
MOCA Cleveland asks architect Farshid Moussavi to provide final designs for new building at Uptown (http://cleveland.com)
"On Monday, the MOCA board voted unanimously to ask architects from the Cleveland firm of Westlake Reed Leskosky to produce final construction drawings for a detailed concept created by Farshid Moussavi of Foreign Office Architects in London, England. The move toward construction documents is a key step toward a possible groundbreaking in November." Big time stuff!
