Moving On + Moving Up

Did you know that over 6 years ago SPACES' Community Engagement Coordinator, Michelle Epps, started here as a part-time Office Administrator? With a strong commitment to providing barrier-free access to contemporary art and a high tolerance for the quirks of an alternative art space, Michelle was the perfect person to establish our Creative Engagement campaign. She has done so much to communicate the power of what art can do for this city and we are happy to see her move on to a leadership position, as the next Executive Director of our programming partner, Art Therapy Studio.

But don't worry about us! We grow leaders here. You might already be aware of the incredible work that our part-time Artist Outreach Coordinator, Jasmine Golphin, has done to launch the 2 new artist funds at SPACES: Urgent Art Fund and Satellite Fund. As it turns out, she's got an impressive history of connecting Clevelanders to the artistic resources available to them in this city. We are excited to have her continue making SPACES one of the best places for experiencing contemporary art, but now in the full-time position of Creative Engagement Coordinator. Keep an eye out for how she'll shape this program!

And wait, there's more! We are also super thrilled to officially welcome former SPACES intern and 2017 grand opening contributing artist, McKenzie Merriman, to the SPACES team as our new Event Rental Coordinator. Get in touch with her if you'd like to host your next event at SPACES (events@SPACEScle.org).
