Position Summary
SPACES is seeking a creative, organized, and culture-savvy Part-Time Audience & Marketing Coordinator to help grow and engage our audiences while shaping the public face of the organization.
This is not your average front desk job. The Audience & Marketing Coordinator will play an active role in how people experience SPACES — from the moment they walk through the door to the way they encounter our exhibitions, events, artists, and online presence. This role blends visitor engagement, content creation, graphic design, social media, communications, and community-building within one of Cleveland’s leading contemporary art organizations. We’re looking for someone who is plugged into culture, visually minded, highly communicative, and excited about connecting people to experimental art and ideas. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable greeting visitors, creating social content, writing compelling copy, updating a website, designing promotional materials, and brainstorming new ways to bring fresh audiences into the space.
Key Responsibilities
Audience Experience
- Be the face of SPACES and help set the tone the moment someone walks through the door.
- Spark conversations about art, artists, and ideas while creating a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere.
- Keep exhibitions, openings, performances, and public programs running smoothly.
- Keep our front-of-house looking sharp, respond to inquiries, and help us understand our audiences through attendance tracking.
- Pitch in wherever needed—we're a collaborative, all-hands-on-deck team.
Marketing & Storytelling
- Help shape how SPACES shows up online, in print, and in the community.
- Create scroll-stopping content for social media, newsletters, and the web.
- Design bold graphics and write smart, engaging copy that captures the energy of SPACES.
- Dream up fresh ways to connect with new audiences and amplify experimental art.
- Bring curiosity, creativity, and cultural awareness to every project.
Preferred Qualifications
- You're a strong writer with an eye for great storytelling and good design.
- You know your way around social media and Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools.
- You're organized enough to juggle projects but flexible enough to pivot when things get weird (they sometimes do).
- You genuinely enjoy talking with people and making everyone feel welcome.
- You're curious about contemporary art, experimental culture, and community-centered work.
- Experience in the arts, nonprofits, hospitality, creative industries, or grassroots organizing is a plus.
- You're dependable, collaborative, and eager to bring ideas—not just complete tasks.
- Excited to contribute ideas and grow within a small but mighty team
