SPACES Artist-in-Residence, Kat Burdine, shares her practice during the Cleveland Institue of Art's Lunch on Fridays lecture series.

Suspicious of phrases like “Every bar is a gay bar,” SPACES resident Kat Burdine created new work to reflect on the complexities and contradictions of the shifting spaces queer bodies inhabit. See how her ideas and understanding of queer space has developed over the course of her residency with SPACES. (On view at SPACES through March 13)

Kat Burdine was born in St.Paul, Minnesota in the Mid-80’s. As an artist, she sabotages modes of making to produce failed prints, and objects -- investigating the consequences of socially assigned narratives and the ways we carry them.
