Godis in the Bodhi is a project that offers a unique opportunity to explore the relational aesthetics of Black diasporic spiritual systems in Northeast Ohio. Through collaboration with practitioners of various African spiritual traditions and members of African American churches and other places of worship in Cleveland, we aim to create an interactive art installation that celebrates and explores the richness of these spiritual traditions of divinity through our lens.
Exhibition runs June 19 – July 31 at Julia de Burgos Cultural Arts Center (2800 Archwood Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44109)
Opening event: June 19th at 5:00 PM

Wil Frierson
Wil Frierson is an award winning cinematographer and editor. Born and raised in Cleveland Ohio, Wil attended Cleveland State University where he earned a degree in Digital Media Communication & Film. Aja Joi Grant
Aja Joi is a Cleveland artist highlighting self preservation and radical acceptance in her work. Utilizing photography and digital media, she often takes her work and translates images into printmaking like silk screen and cyanotype, as well as jacquard weavings.
