At the annual Congreso in Los Angeles, a group of Latine clowns comes together to teach 150+ attendees the complex & joyful art of clowning. Their vibrant optimism is powerfully juxtaposed with their stories of resilience and sacrifice having immigrated to the U.S.— demonstrating how the arts, community & chosen family can forge a path to healing.

This is a unique work-in-progress screening of a new feature-length documentary by Jacob Koestler (Cleveland) and Michael McDermit (Los Angeles). After the screening, the directors will host a conversation to hear thoughts and feedback to help shape the final version. The event is free and open to the public. Come join us in clown world!

Latin Clowns Evolution is supported by The Satellite Fund, administered by SPACES and funded by The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts Regional Regranting Program.
