Opening Reception:

Join us at SPACES for the opening reception of meditations on be(IN) thr(u) on Friday, May 15, 2026 from 6:00–9:00 PM.

Come for an evening celebrating this immersive solo exhibition by Brooklyn-based artist ọmọlolú Refilwe Bàbátúndé (shx/they). Bàbátúndé transforms the Oracle Gallery into a constellation of sound, image, and memory, mapping an interdisciplinary practice rooted in the healing and self-emancipatory properties of Black sound.

Through sonic and video collages, familial archives, a monument to Zora Neale Hurston, and newly created printed matter, the installation invites visitors into a space of reflection, attunement, and care.

Celebrate the opening with us and experience the work in community. Registration is encouraged for this event.
