No Home, Just Landscapes is an experimental documentary film by director Gabriel Xavier. The film showcases Cleveland’s downtown and westside suburbs in dreamlike black-and-white cinematography as a backdrop for Xavier’s narration of a letter to a deceased friend. Xavier juxtaposes cityscapes with surreal fantasy scenes containing an anthropomorphic mouse, a secret agent, a transgender vampire, and a dancing star. Woven throughout the film is the acapella keening of flamenco singer Alicia Gil. No Home, Just Landscapes is a meditation on loss, grief, urban decay, art, and social change.
