Learn more about the site-specific, immersive installation A Black Prayer through this special artist talk with Yelaine Rodriguez. Exploring Black memory, history, resistance, and interracial allyship by way of video performance, photography, found objects, and newly-created ceramics, Rodriguez will discuss her relationship to archival research, scholarship, and her interdisciplinary art-making practice. Join us for an intimate evening of reflection and discovery.
Yelaine Rodriguez
Yelaine Rodriguez (b. 1990) is an Afro-DominicanYork interdisciplinary artist and scholar focused on sculpture, photography, film, and performance. Her work explores Afro-syncretism and ancestral memory, connecting the Caribbean and the U.S. She earned a BFA in Fashion Design from Parsons in 2013 and an MA in Latin American and Caribbean...
