Edward Freska was the picture editor and op-ed illustrator for the Plain Dealer for 18 years, and later the graphics editor for the Los Angles Times Op-Ed group. Most recently he continues as an editorial cartoonist for the Sun News Group. SPACES is pleased to host the first major showing by this contributor to the culture who came from and remains in Cleveland.
Freska is an equal opportunity commentator who poked at power with his witty pen. Several decades of illustrations relating to the political process will offer a historical narrative that will serve as acounter pointto the contemporary issues raised in the other work on view in the galleries at SPACES.
