Danny Volk's project, The News Gallery, is a weekly newspaper that focuses on artists who applied but were not accepted to show their work at SPACES. In a context of minimal exhibition opportunities and resources, contemporary artists are rethinking the structure of exhibitions to be more inclusive. The News Gallery posits one such gesture.
The News Gallery create, rather than consumes, opportunity by publishing (with the artists' permission) application materials to SPACES as newspaper copy. Volk will install a newsroom in the SPACES gallery where visitors may witness the creation of each weekly edition, speak with him about the project, and read the latest issues.

Danny Volk received a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Chicago and a Bachelors of Arts in Theater Studies from Kent State University. SPACES is open to the public on Weds-Sat 12-5 PM
SPACES has stops from busses 26 and 71 right out front.
22, 25, 45, and 51 all also stop nearby at West 25 and Detroit.
