Paloma Kop: Experiments in Public

Paloma Kop is an electronic media artist based in New York. Her work often takes the form of abstract, ambient audio-visual compositions and installations. She combines old-school video broadcast equipment and experimental hardware techniques with digital processes and computer programming to produce evolving, self-propagating forms, textures, and environments. Her works evoke the complexity and mathematical properties of organisms and natural phenomena, while exploring distortions of perception and experience. Experiments in Public, on view at SPACES, is a selection of recent audio-visual works created through synthesis/signal processing, video feedback, the physics of light & sound, and generative animation.
