CockSure explores contradictions in our understanding of guns and gun ownership. Accra Shepp draws from recent research, including still photographs and video of gun owners and users to create this exploration of layered images. Why do people own guns? How do they use their guns? What kind of guns do they choose to use? This experimental video uses a multi-channel format to explore these and other questions, highlighting conflicting responses as a way of addressing the complexities surrounding this current issue.
Accra Shepp
Accra Shepp is a photo based artist whose works in a variety of collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, The Art Institute of Chicago, and the Victoria and Albert Museum. He has a year long installation running through May 31, 2019 at the National Library of Luxembourg titled “Windbook”.... go to artist page
