Brianna L. Hernandez will present, "Anticipatory|Después", a series of video and sculptural installations exploring themes of end-of-life care, grief, and mourning. Pulling from her role as a death doula, Hernandez incorporates educational elements into her works, inviting visitors to consider their own wishes for care and memorialization. Each piece encourages more open and honest conversations on grief to break down the taboo and isolation surrounding loss.
Brianna L. Hernández
Brianna L. Hernández (b.1991) is a Chicana artist, curator, and death doula guided by socially-engaged practices. In the studio, Hernández creates multi-media installations focused on end-of-life care, grief, and mourning rituals based on lived experience, cultural research, and collaborations with peers including death education workshops.
