Artist William Pope.L Wants to Know If Cleveland Has Plans for Early June

Cleveland, OH, January 4, 2013—Since it's the new year, and time to craft some resolutions for what lies ahead in 2013, artist William Pope.L and SPACES asks you to consider penciling in Pull! June 7-10th.

In this ambitious, city-wide community art piece, William Pope.L is asking the people of Cleveland to manually pull an 8-ton truck across the city for 72 hours straight. During the pull, images gathered from Clevelanders about the work they do everyday will be projected out the truck's back doorway for all to see.

Each and every Clevelander is invited to get involved: whether by helping pull the truck across town, by contributing an image or two about your experiences with work in Cleveland, or by hosting a stop alongside the route.

This January brings a series of events where you can come learn more about Pull! and William Pope.L, and help decide how you would like to plug in:

ARTIST BIO
William Pope.L is a visual and performance artist and educator. He has been making multi-disciplinary works since the 1970s, exhibiting internationally in New York, London, Los Angeles, Vienna, Montreal and Tokyo. In 2009, he was commissioned by Hauser & Wirth to create an installation in response to Kaprow's "Yard." He participated in the New Museum's 2010-2011 exhibition "The Last Newspaper," with a reenactment of his infamous "Eating the Wall Street Journal" performance.
