Cleveland, OH, November 14, 2013 -
SPACES, a 35-year old art organization that serves as a resource and a forum for artists who explore and experiment, is officially embarking on a journey to a new home. On November 14, 2013, SPACES finalized the sale of the building it has owned and occupied since 1990.
The successful sale of the building propels SPACES forward toward a goal, set by the Board during a 2010 strategic planning effort, to find a new home for SPACES in a visible and vibrant setting more suitable for the organization.
"We are thrilled to complete this sale and are actively working to identify a new home for SPACES that can provide heightened visibility for our organization as well as give us the opportunity to positively impact the surrounding community," said SPACES Board President John Farina.
Proceeds from the sale will help SPACES build a more robust cash reserve to help secure the organization's financial grounding as well as assist with relocation. SPACES will lease back its current gallery space on the 1st floor, and continue to present innovative programming there while its board and staff focus in on a new location and prepare to embark on a fundraising effort.
