Gabrielle Lajoie-Bergeron (she/her) is a French-Canadian multidisciplinary artist, curator, teacher and cultural worker living and working between Charlevoix, CA and Baltimore, USA. Lajoie-Bergeron holds a Master's in visual and media arts from UQÀM(2014) and was granted numerous international awards and grant (MSCA/ Grit Fund / Plein Sud / Canadian Council for the Art / Quebec Arts and Letters Council / Argentina Art Council). Her work has been exhibited in Canada, USA, Europe, South America, and Africa. In 2018, she was part of the programs of Residencia Corazon, AR; Il Torrione Museum, IT; and the 36th International Contemporary Art Symposium of Baie-St-Paul, CA. In 2019, her work was presented at Palazzo dell’arte DiNapoli, IT; the YellowFish Art Gallery, Montreal, CA; and the ICA Baltimore, US. In 2021-23, her work will be showed at the Laure-Conan Art Center, Charlevoix; L'Oeil de Poisson, Quebec; SPACES, Cleveland; Laroche-Joncas Gallery, Montreal; and the IA&A at Hillyer, DC. Her feminist collective Filles Debouttes! presented at L’Écart, Quebec; ICA Baltimore; and Galerie B-312, Montréal. Co-founder of the Pigment Sauvage–Art & Residencies Center, Baltimore, she curated the project La Track/The Track in 2019-20, Montreal & Baltimore. In 2020-21, she was semi-finalist for the Sondheim Prize, Bethesda Painting Prize, and the Trawick Prize. Her work has been published in numerous magazines and newspapers.
