Lauren Bugaj was born July 23, 1979 and passed away on November 10, 2006. She is survived by her parents Karen and Ron Thier, Greg and Amy Bugaj, and her siblings Erin, Kayleigh and Jared. She earned her BFA in Photography from The Cleveland Institute of Art, Cleveland, OH in 2002. In the last months of her life Lauren taught an Introduction to Photography course at CIA.
Lauren's passion in life was photography. From The Plain Dealer, (November 14, 2006) "She held an internship in NYC and held the position of forensic photographer with the Cuyahoga County Coroner Office. Lauren exhibited extensively and was recognized for her photography with numerous awards. She was an entrepreneur and had a prolific career as a free-lance photographer. She donated her arts and talent to worthy causes such as the Women's Community Foundation, The Rape Crisis Center, and the APL. Lauren touched so many lives in her short lifetime and continues to do so."
