Lauren Havel is a painter based in Kent, Ohio and received her BFA from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University in 2018 and completed her MFA from NYSCC’s pioneer Alfred/Düsseldorf Painting Program in the spring of 2020. Lauren has shown her work locally in the Akron Art Walk in 2014. She has shown in and curated many exhibitions at Alfred University such as Behold a Lady, an exhibition that was partnered with Queering Space in 2018. She has also exhibited her work internationally in the 2019 Kunst Punkte, an annual citywide exhibition held in Düsseldorf Germany. In 2019 Lauren received the Bernstein Grant from Alfred University and planned a trip for her MFA cohort to travel to London to see exhibitions at the Tate Modern, the National Portrait Gallery, Pilar Corrias, and Josh Lilley Gallery.
