Artist Statement (from her website https://namiyamamotoart.com/) :

"My artistic process is governed chiefly by an empirical investigation of the surrounding world, and translating that information into an aesthetic experience that helps me to better understand this world. Merging science and the poetic, my work begins with an informal perusal of the environment, collecting odd bits of natural and man made ephemera or noticing some natural phenomenon. My studio serves as forum and laboratory to investigate these questions and propose answers that take the form of drawings and installations."
