Rosamond S. King Ph.D. is a creative and critical writer and performer. She has engaged in guerrilla performance work around the world and her work has also been formally presented in the USA, the Caribbean, and West Africa. Her poetry has been published in over a dozen journals and anthologies. King lives and works in Brooklyn, NY, USA, when she's not living somewhere else.
She has received a Franklin Furnace Fund grant to create a major new work of performance art in New York City. In 2014, she premiered Sable International in Montreal as part of the Hemispheric Institute's Encuentro Festival of performance art from the Americas and also premiered Leave It Behind and Tiny Winey as part of Call & Response, a series of events organized by performance artist Gabrielle Civil. King most recent publication Island Bodies: Transgressive Sexualities in the Caribbean Imagination is available on Amazon.
Visiting SPACES
Open Wednesday - Saturday
from 12PM - 5PM, and by appointment.
All visitors are recommended to wear masks and social distance from staff and other guests. SPACES is located close to the 26, 76, and 81 bus stops, as well as the Red Line Rapid station. Street parking is available throughout Hingetown, as are bike racks. We are wheelchair accessible throughout the galleries.
