End of Days Preview Party

Friday, October 11, 2019, 7:00PM

In the spirit of experimentation, SPACES has moved away from our traditional Annual Benefit model and we’re trying something totally new: This year’s event, End of Days, will be an immersive, artist-designed, unsettling exhibition experience that will transform our gallery space into 7 “rooms” designed by artists Kristin Rogers & Pita Brooks, Zachary Smoker + Steve Smolinski, Joey Strunk, Kate Atherton, Cassie Harner, Ben Oblivion, and Susie Underwood, with a soundtrack by Matthew Gallagher. End of Days will kick off with a special VIP Preview Party on Friday, October 11th, where we will honor Jill Snyder, Executive Director of moCa Cleveland, and Phyllis Harris, Executive Director of LGBT Community Center (and former SPACES Board Member) for the excellent work...read more

End of Days will kick off with a special VIP Preview Party on Friday, October 11th, where we will honor Jill Snyder, Executive Director of moCa Cleveland, and Phyllis Harris, Executive Director of LGBT Community Center (and former SPACES Board Member) for the excellent work they've done in our community. All sponsors receive tickets to the VIP Preview Party. The exhibition will then be open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (plus Halloween) through November 2nd. All proceeds from the event will benefit SPACES' programming.

Matthew Gallagher

Matthew Gallagher’s work sits both decidedly within and defiantly outside art historical context, displaying critical knowledge of and homage to his artistic antecedents while staking new paths in every direction. His work deals in contemporary and timeless inquiry, asking questions about perception, the universe, and forces we cannot see, alongside... Go to Artist Page

Cassie Harner

Cassandra Harner is, to start out vague, a multimedia artist. She is also a tangle of contradictions, both extremely self-assured, and boundlessly lost. An artist must write her own bio in the third person, and Cassandra is already familiar with thinking of herself in this way, performing as personas and... Go to Artist Page

Ben Oblivion

Ben Oblivion is an artist and attention whore currently based in Cleveland, Ohio. Oblivion graduated with a BFA in Sculpture and Expanded Media in 2017 from the Cleveland Institute of Art. He has since created an installation for Ingenuity Fest (Cleveland's annual celebration of art and technology), created a one-person... Go to Artist Page

Kristin Rogers

As an artist, curator, and musician, his projects are driven by interdisciplinary intentions, and frequently involve multi-media approaches. Labor, sympathy for the proletariat mindset, and accessibility are common threads that imbue his diverse scope of art production. Although his content is, at times, compound and intricate, he avoids the clandestine... Go to Artist Page

Susie Underwood

Susie Underwood is an installation and performance artist, often creating participatory structures to draw the viewer into the experience and allow for multiple viewpoints and creative contributions. Susie’s aesthetic tends towards a “granny in outer space” sensibility, combining a love for vintage design with science fiction as a foil for... Go to Artist Page
