Render Me Softly presents a two-part experimental animation screening this Sunday, April 26th at 6 PM at Lake Affect Studios (1615 E 25th St, Cleveland, OH 44114). This event is free, followed by a small reception in Laura Camila Medina and Valentino Quijano's studio at Lake Affect.
Soft Becomings: features animations that focus on childhood, family & intergenerational dynamics, memory, and coming of age.
The Body as a Site for Tenderness: highlights films that center the body as a journey of acceptance, love, desire, and transformation.

This screening is part of Render Me Softly, a pop-up animation festival in Cleveland, OH. Organized by Laura Camila Medina and supported through SPACES’ Satellite Fund and the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, the festival highlights themes of tenderness, transformation, and becoming through free screenings, workshops, and dialogue.

Laura Camila Medina
Laura Camila Medina (1995) is an interdisciplinary artist born in Bogotá, Colombia. Her practice is deeply inspired by the kisses between mountains and sky of her birthplace intertwined with the thematic fantasy-scape and migrant microcosms of Central Florida.
