The Urgent Art Fund

SPACES is thrilled to share the 2021 Urgent Art Fund application. We are now accepting proposals on a rolling basis for projects that are politically, culturally, and/or socially responsive.

2021 jurors, Asia Armour, LaToya Kent (UAF '20), and Gisela McDaniel, will select 10 project-based grants of $5,000 to be awarded throughout 2021 to artists who are living and working in Cuyahoga County. Grant recipients will also receive access to SPACES' art production facilities, mentorship, and complimentary SPACES Season Pass Membership.

This opportunity is supported by Cuyahoga Arts & Culture through the Support for Artists grant.

The Satellite Fund

This opportunity is part of The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts Regional Regranting Program, which awards grants to vibrant, under-the-radar artistic activity by partnering with leading cultural institutions in 16 communities across the country.

The Satellite Fund grant program was temporarily refocused for 2020, to better serve artists affected by the current pandemic and economic crisis. New applications for The Satellite Fund Emergency Relief program are not currently being accepted, and funds were disbursed in May and June. Grants of up to $1,000 were awarded to over 110 area artists. Awards are made based on a declaration of need and demonstrated visual arts practice. These funds were awarded to artists who were significantly impacted by the current pandemic and economic crisis. Additional funding for the Emergency Artist Grant program came from The Cleveland Foundation, The Takeyama Fund at the Cleveland Foundation, and by Susan Murray and Don Harvey.
